ABOUT MILCOMPASS

Military knowledge with a practical next step.

MILCOMPASS is an independently developed military reference, study, career-development, and leader-support product.

Who it is for

These guides are written for Soldiers, aspiring NCOs, and leaders who want to understand a concept and practice applying it. They can also help readers become familiar with Army leadership and training terminology.

What you can use here

The public guide library combines explanations, fictional examples, practice checklists, and self-check questions. No account is required to read these pages. The main workspace adds the larger Study library, public reference tools, and account-based Career and Leader features.

How to read the guidance

MILCOMPASS explanations organize and interpret material for learning. They do not establish Army policy. Examples illustrate a decision or communication habit; they are not official forms, prescribed timelines, or instructions for a specific person’s case.

Source links identify the supporting publication or official resource. Publications, forms, and local requirements can change. Check the current source and ask the appropriate leader or office before acting on a requirement.

Sources, corrections, and updates

Each public guide carries its publication date and a source section. You can report inaccurate wording or a moved link through the support page. Include the guide URL, the passage at issue, and a better official reference when available. Corrections should be evaluated against the source before the explanation is updated.

Independence

MILCOMPASS is not an official U.S. Army, Department of Defense, or U.S. Government application and is not endorsed by those organizations. It does not replace the chain of command, a schoolhouse, a servicing professional, or an official system of record. Credited government photographs are used for illustration and do not imply endorsement.
